Co-creation & Hackathons

Collaborative making can be a powerful way of connecting people through and with technology. Over the past 5 years, I've designed, organised and facilitated a number of co-creation sessions and hackathons for this purpose. Whilst topics and creative mediums vary, each event aims to encourage curiosity and empower future action.

Leveraging design and tech experience

I use my design skills and technical knowledge to translate complex topics, such as quantum science or inclusive work practices, into engaging challenges that invite hands-on, creative responses.

Making the abstract tangible

I support participants in using a range of physical and digital mediums, from craft materials to code, to make abstract ideas tangible and uncover their relevance in participants' own lives.

Mentorship and peer learning

As an experienced educator and mentor, I design co-creation events with clear and validated learning goals. My approach prioritises mentorship over instruction, peer learning, and actionable outcomes.

Highlights

I designed, organised and facilitated a co-creation session at the WIQD Annual Symposium '24, on the topic of practical tools for making workplaces inclusive.
I expand the traditional, code-centric hackathon format to include physical mediums, encouraging creativity and providing an alternative for tech newcomers.
I collaborated with WIQD and QBlox, a quantum startup, to organise and run a hackathon on the topic of data-driven diversity.
I designed and ran a series of hackathons with Waag Futurelab, engaging a diverse group of citizens on the topic of societal impacts of quantum tech.
